Christmas in Watford

The big switch on for Watford’s Christmas lights will take place on Saturday 19 November between 4pm and 5.30pm – by the pond at the Parade. Clare Cordell from TV’s The Voice UK will be flicking the switch. There’ll also be live performances from Clare and local artists including Electric Umbrella, Watford Rock Choir and the cast Watford Palace theatre’s 2022 panto Beauty and The Beast. To round off the event there’ll be a spectacular Fireworks Display at 5.20pm.

From 3 to 23 December 2022, you can experience Santa’s Flight School at the Atria Watford shopping centre. Step on board Santa’s magical sleigh for a festive flight like no other. This free event gives kids of all ages the chance to take the reins and join Rudolph in a flying lesson, directed by Santa and his elves. Once qualified, all junior flight cadets will use their knowledge – and a bit of magic – to guide the stunning reindeer puppet off the ground and into the air.

Beauty and the Beast is this year’s pantomime from the Watford Palace Theatre – unmissable family fun with shows from 3 to 31 December 2022. Will Belle save Beau from a dastardly curse before the last rose petal falls? Oh yes, she will!
